About Goldfinch Cabin
Goldfinch Cabin offers cozy and convenient lodging that is on the Appalachian Trail and just five to ten minutes walking distance from Hot Springs' restaurants, shops, and mineral tubs. Snuggle up with your sweetheart in the master bedroom or use the cabin as a comfortable home-base for your family's outdoor adventures!
With three private bedrooms, Goldfinch is large enough to accommodate families and groups.
The space
Goldfinch is a three bedroom cabin. Two of the bedrooms have queen beds. The third bedroom has a twin bed, full bed, and reading nook ideal for kids or extra guests.
The well-stocked kitchenette includes a mini-fridge/freezer, toaster oven, microwave, InstantPot, coffee maker (of course!), sink, flatware, dishes, a cutting board, and knives.
The shower is in a separate room from the toilet and sink, making it easier for larger groups to share these spaces.
Enjoy the view from the covered porch and patio, complete with a Weber charcoal grill.

ADJACENT CABIN
Goldfinch shares a wall with an adjacent cabin (Chickadee). Each cabin has its own private parking and private entrance. The shared wall is double thickness and soundproofed for privacy.

INTERNET We’ve got WiFi! Download speeds average at 13 Mbps.
LINENS AND SOAPS All linens (towels, washcloths, sheets, dish cloths) are provided. Bath bars and hand soaps are also included.
TV We do not have cable/satellite TV but encourage you to enjoy the large DVD collection. The master bedroom has a 40" HDTV. The second bedroom is equipped with its own TV as well.
2 WHEEL DRIVE ACCESSIBLE The cabin is on a well-maintained state road and the approach and parking is flat, so it is accessible by two wheel drive vehicles in all but the most severe of storms!
PET FRIENDLY Goldfinch is pet-friendly! For the wellbeing of our flowers and safety of your pet, pets must be leashed in all outdoor areas. If your pet is a barker or is not house friendly (chewing, scratching, general chaos and destruction...) we ask that you kindly leave them elsewhere!
NO SMOKING This is a NON SMOKING vacation rental. Smoking is permitted outside. Ashtray is provided.
+ The Neighborhood
Goldfinch Cabin is located near town and only steps from the Appalachian Trail. Just a few steps from the front door you can easily see the trailhead and sign for Pisgah National Forest! The AT will cruise you straight on in to Hot Springs, no car required, and you can expect it to take 5-15 minutes depending on your ability level and where you are headed in town.
A two minute drive will land you at the famous Hot Springs Spa and Resort, where you can soak in Hot Springs' naturally heated mineral tubs. For a real "day at the spa," check out their massages as well!
We are across the street from the Laughing Heart Lodge, which is a beautiful building that is an old Jesuit Retreat Center and is now operated as a hikers' hostel and private events center.
+ Getting Around
The brewery, restaurants, and shops are all a 1-2 minute drive from the cabin! Want to avoid the car? Strap on your walking shoes! The walk to town takes 5-15 minutes. We are a quaint little mountain town, and you can walk to everything. We don't even have a stoplight!
There is no public transportation in Hot Springs, so a car or rental car is recommended.

"We loved this little cottage ! Very clean and in a great location. Our grandchildren had a wonderful time while we waited for my daughter and son-in-law to hike some on the Appalachian Trail. The owner was so friendly and kind . She made us feel very welcome. Nice cool air conditioning and very clean. Easy to find and very quiet . Would go back again for sure ! We rented the extra bedroom for two nights and the cottage was just right for seven people. We enjoyed the birds and flowers in the yard also ! Very cute place." -Patricia

"I met my daughter and her friend who are thru-hiking the AT for a weekend visit. This was a perfect spot, in that they could walk to the cabin easily from the trail. The cabin was cozy and clean. " Natalie's place is awesome. So close to the AT we walked basically right by it after our hike from Max Patch to Hot Springs. The cabin is very close to the small town so it was easy to walk in for dinner and to pick up some groceries. It's also very quiet and up on a hill away from the 'busy' road. The cabin was very clean and the beds were very comfy after our long hike. Natalie was so helpful and let us check in early which was awesome. When we had an issue with a clogged toilet she was super responsive and was there in 10 minutes to fix it. If I ever make it back to hot springs I will definitely try to stay with Natalie again.
